The idea of a kizomba festival was born in 2009 when kizomba was still just a baby in Poland, it basicly didn’t exist yet in most of the other European countries. It’s all thanks to Ola Leszczewicz, known as the “mother of Polish salsa”, teaching constantly since 1998. For many years Ola has been professionally related to Portugal and that’s where she came across kizomba at one of Lisbon’s salsa parties back in 2002 or 2003. SHe fell in love, and promossed herself to bring that dance to Poland one day.
