✨ 11th Philadelphia Tango Festival ✨ focusing on IMPROVISATION in Tango Dance & Music

Hosted by: Philadelphia Argentine Tango School

Description

The ✨ 11th Philadelphia Tango Festival ✨ takes place over Memorial Day Weekend: Friday, May 26 through late night Monday, May 29.
THE THEME: IMPROVISATION
The festival is thematic. All activities are organized around the central theme of: IMPROVISATION in tango dance & music.
As such, we are super-honored to welcome two couples who are among the best living tango improvisers:
💥 Octavio Fernandez & Corina Herrera
💥 Cecilia Garcia & Serkan Gokcesu
If you’d like to study in-depth with either couple (or both!), you have the chance to take a four-workshop seminar. Additional non-seminar workshops are also available.
PRODUCING NEW TANGO MUSIC
This festival also inaugurates a new tradition… From now on, the Philadelphia Tango Festival will always PRODUCE a new tango album of infectiously danceable tango music! Our goal is to foment the writing and recording of excellent music for social dancers.
In 2023, we are producing the debut album of the 💫 Tipica Messiez 💫. It will be recorded in Buenos Aires in February 2023 and made available for the first time at the festival.
LIVE MUSIC EVERY NIGHT
The festival features LIVE MUSIC EVERY NIGHT, both seated concerts and extremely danceable music during milongas.
Musicians include:
✅ Tipica Messiez Tango Orchestra
✅ Juan Villarreal & Patricio Crom
✅ Romo-Agri-Messiez Trio
✅ Hugo Satorre & Leandro Roucco
✅ Amazing combinations of the above

We’re super-stoked about our excellent DJs:

He’ll be collaborating with musicians, including Hugo, Juan, Pato, Leandro to create a peña (folkloric dance party) on the final festival evening.
FOR BEGINNERS
The Philadelphia Tango Festival is THE best way to start learning tango. This year, beginners will be in great hands with instructor ☀️ Martin Enos ☀️. He’ll also perform on Sunday night with the illustrious dancer, Eleanora Kalganova. The Beginner Pass is the best deal of the whole festival!
